Hydrosol is mainly indicated for external use. Internal use is not recommended except for very specific indications.
It is traditionally used in hair care: fine hair, alopecia, itchy scalp, dandruff, adding shine to dry and damaged hair.
Used as is, as a hair lotion, it will also be used to dilute shampoos and conditioners. Synergies are obvious with another hair tonic: rosemary hydrosol with cineole. Depending on the color of the hair, it will also be associated with sage hydrosol (red and dark hair) or chamomile hydrosol (blond hair).
We will also appreciate the action of the hydrosol on hydrolipidic retention, for example to help reduce bags under the eyes. We will consider applying it in local compresses, without any other addition or before applying a light cream or gel. Synergies are possible with cistus, witch hazel or immortelle hydrosols, always externally. Internally, the action will be reinforced by drainage hydrosols acting in complementarity, and in particular: HA of juniper + HA of rosemary with verbenone.
As part of the preparation of anti-cellulite emulsions, you will think of incorporating cedar hydrosol into your aqueous phase.
On the whole body, cedar hydrosol can be used as a tonic for lymphatic circulation, in compresses or in misting.
Another lesser-known field of application: animal fur. It will be used to help the cat get rid of its dander (allergens, as we know) and its fleas. The rather delicate odor of this hydrosol does not shock its sense of smell. In dogs, it will be used for the same purpose when rinsing and for maintenance by misting; the dog even seems to have a predilection for the smell.
Internal use: 1 to 2 tablespoons in 1 liter of water.
